Anhui/Beijing, 27 June 2022. Volkswagen Group China has appointed Mr. Frank Fang Yang as CEO of its new Digital Sales and Services Company, as part of its strategic drive to provide more customer-focused services and enhance its all-round e-mobility experience for the cars being produced at Volkswagen Anhui Automotive CO. Ltd. Mr. Yang, 43, will bring rich experience in sales, marketing, brand building, product, R&D and NEV ecosystems gained through diverse roles at Chinese and international OEMs, as well as a strong entrepreneurial drive developed during this time as founder and CEO of ICV start-up AVATR Technology.

In his new role, Frank will be responsible for developing the new sales and services company as an integral part of the Group’s ecosystem. He will be tasked with orchestrating a customer-focused strategy, establishing a strong team, and ensuring operational excellence.

Through his various roles at AVATR, ChangAn Auto and Ford Motor Company, Mr. Yang gained vast experience in strategy, operations, product, R&D, sales, marketing, brand building, innovation, and overseas market penetration. This allowed him to build solid product specialty knowledge and a proven record in the full value chain of automotive products, including user insights, planning, design, engineering development and sales and marketing. He has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Economics, and completed an MBA at the University of Hong Kong.
The new Digital Sales and Services Company is based in Hefei, supporting Volkswagen Anhui as the joint venture evolves and effectively completing its entire value chain in terms of manufacturing, R&D, testing, sales and marketing and customer services. Taking advantage of new retail formats, it will establish direct customer interfaces through a range of online and offline touch points and provide its customers with digital value-added user experience, including tailor-made mobility and vehicle connectivity services to support their e-mobility needs.
